80 years after the end of the Second World War: The significance of 8 May in the past and present
May 8, 2025 @ 19:00 - 21:00

On the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, we want to look at the events surrounding the end of the war in Schleswig-Holstein and scrutinise why the north played a particularly inglorious role in the final days of the Nazi regime (last Reich government in Flensburg-Mürwik, ‘Rattenlinie Nord’ etc.). It is also about the contemporary communication of Nazi history in general and the memory of 8 May 1945 in particular: How can and do we want to remember the end of the war? What contemporary references arise from 8 May, especially for young people?
