Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is an education programme of the European Union that has been funding education, youth and sports projects since 2014. It enables students, teachers, pupils, trainees and young people in Europe to gain international experience. Intercultural skills are promoted, education systems improved and social integration supported through exchanges, internships, further training and transnational cooperation. The programme includes mobility projects for learners and teachers, strategic partnerships between educational institutions, transnational youth initiatives and measures to promote political reforms in the field of education. Erasmus+ contributes to the promotion of tolerance, international understanding and personal development and strengthens European identity and co-operation in the education sector.

The focal points of the programme

  • Higher education: Promotion of student and lecturer exchanges, study visits, research cooperation and innovation in higher education.

  • Vocational training: Support for internships, training and professional development abroad in order to expand specialised knowledge and intercultural skills.

  • School education: Promotion of partnerships between schools, teacher training and international projects for educational development.

  • Adult education: Supporting further training for adults, exchanging best practices and promoting innovation in adult education.

  • Youth: Promotion of youth exchanges, voluntary services and initiatives to promote social integration, active citizenship and intercultural skills.

  • Sport: Support for sports projects, partnerships and initiatives to promote health, integration, fair play and volunteering.
