In addition to promoting electromobility, Schleswig-Holstein has also made a name for itself as a state that is keen to support start-ups and innovative companies. The state government recognises the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation for the state's economy and society and has therefore introduced various programmes and measures to support founders on their journey from idea to successful company.

An important example of the promotion of start-ups in Schleswig-Holstein is the ‘Support for innovative founders’ programme run by Wirtschaftsförderung und Technologietransfer Schleswig-Holstein GmbH (WT.SH). This programme offers a wide range of support measures aimed at assisting and promoting start-ups in various phases of their development process.

Funding begins in the pre-seed phase, when founders are still fine-tuning their idea and developing a viable business plan.

Once the start-up has reached the founding phase, the programme also provides advice and support during the seed phase and early-stage financing. Financial support in the form of grants or equity investments can help start-ups to take their first steps on the market and develop their products or services.
