Agriculture in Schleswig-Holstein

Agriculture is one of the most important pillars of our society and faces a variety of challenges. In order to meet these challenges and make agricultural practice fit for the future, Schleswig-Holstein is focussing on targeted innovation funding. The state government supports innovation projects in agriculture that promote the transfer of knowledge and networking between agricultural practice, advisory services and science and thus contribute to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.

The state of Schleswig-Holstein sees innovation in agriculture as a comprehensive approach. This involves not only the development of new products or technologies, but also the trialling and testing of new processes, methods and services. This broad concept of innovation makes it possible to improve various aspects of agriculture and to find innovative solutions that meet the requirements of sustainable and resource-conserving farming.

The funded innovations should be directly tailored to the needs and challenges of farmers and be applied in real agricultural practice. Farmers are at the centre of the innovation process, as their experiences and insights make a valuable contribution to the further development of the projects.
