European Social Fund Plus

From 2021 to 2027, the ‘Europäische Sozialfonds Plus’ (ESF Plus) will contribute to a social Europe and support employment, education and social integration in all member states and all regions of the European Union, including Schleswig-Holstein.

Around 224 million euros are available in the state programme Work 2021 - 2027, building on its successful predecessor programme. Many campaigns such as inter-company apprenticeship training, Women & Work and Innovative Pathways to Employment will be continued in a further developed and optimised form. New accents are being set in the SH Skilled Labour Service, the PAM - Perspectives on the Labour Market campaign and with the introduction of IT scouts in the Vocational Preparation and Training Support campaign. IT scouts target young people with career-orientation offers in order to awaken their interest in technical professions.

The focal points of the programme

The programme is divided into three priorities: employment, education and social integration. The eleven actions included in the programme have the following objectives:

  • To support companies in securing future employment, skilled labour and young talent and to increase the quality of training and further education.
  • To support employees' participation in continuing education and lifelong learning against the backdrop of the growing and changing demands of working life.
  • To increase the labour market participation of women.
  • To introduce disadvantaged groups in the labour market, including people with a migration background, to the labour market and support their integration into employment.
  • To improve the educational opportunities of young people and tap into their educational potential.
